Grow Your Diamonds

Grow Your Diamonds

Business was pretty slow in the early 1930s during the depression, so John A. Nash, founder of Nash Jewellers, got creative.

He encouraged people to start “growing their diamonds”. He encouraged them to buy only what they could easily afford when getting engaged and guaranteed them full trade at a later date. So long as they doubled up, he allowed full trade on the original purchase.

This is a tradition we continue to carry on today. Buy well within your means today, and grow your diamonds when you have the ability to do so later!

Some of our customers keep their original diamond for sentimental reasons; possibly using it as a shoulder stone or putting it into a pendant, and others literally trade up until they get the size they truly desire.

The program works with earrings as well! You buy a small pair when you are getting started and keep trading up until you are happy. Your trade-ins go to our estate department and everyone wins.

All use of this website is subject to the Terms of Use.

Access

Nash hereby grants you permission to use the Nash website in accordance with these Terms of Use, provided that:

(i) your use of the website is solely for your personal use;

(ii) you will not copy or distribute any part of the website in any medium or manner inconsistent with these Terms of Use without Nash’s prior written consent, which may be withheld for any reason;

(iii) you will not alter or modify any part of the website other than as may be reasonably necessary to use the website for its intended purpose; and

(iv) you will otherwise comply with these Terms of Use.

In order to access some features of the website, you will have to create an account. You may never use another person's account without permission. When creating your account, you must provide accurate and complete information. You are solely responsible for the activity that occurs on your account, and you must keep your account password secure. You must notify Nash immediately of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account. Although Nash will not be liable for your losses caused by any unauthorized use of your account, you may be liable for the losses of Nash or others due to such unauthorized use.

Nash reserves the right to establish data transfer restrictions, limit the total amount of data transfer associated with your account, or both. Your account may be closed by Nash should the total amount of data transfer exceed an amount deemed excessive in Nash's sole discretion.

You agree not to use or launch any automated system, including without limitation, "robots", "spiders", "offline readers", or similar systems, that accesses the website in a manner that sends more request messages to the Nash servers in a given period of time than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional on-line web browser. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Nash grants the operators of public search engines permission to use spiders to copy materials from the site for the sole purpose of creating publicly available searchable indices of the materials, but not caches or archives of such materials. Nash reserves the right to revoke these exceptions either generally or in specific cases. You agree not to collect or harvest any personally identifiable information, including account names, from the website.

In order to post or publish User Submissions, defined below, on the website, you will be required to encode your media data by downloading and installing the Nash software. For these limited purposes only, you are hereby granted a revocable non-exclusive licence to use the Nash software for the sole purpose of encoding digital audiovisual material in order to create User Submissions for the website. Nash makes no warranty concerning the functionality of the Nash software on any individual computer and expressly disclaims any and all liability for any problem which may be caused to your computer or damage of any kind incurred by you resulting from your use of the Nash software. You hereby waive any legal or equitable rights or remedies you may have against Nash with respect to your use thereof.

The website may permit the submission of videos or other communications submitted by you and other users ("User Submissions") and the hosting, sharing, and publishing of such User Submissions. Nash may also establish categories for User Submissions based on intended use, such as “Private” where User Submissions are not shared, “Invited” where there is an invitation to view, share, or both, and “Public”. You understand that whether or not such User Submissions are published and regardless of category, Nash does not guarantee any confidentiality with respect to any such submissions. You also understand and agree that Nash may place advertising on the website in conjunction with User Submissions.

You are solely responsible for your own User Submissions and the consequences of posting, sharing, or publishing them. For all User Submissions you submit which are intended for public use, you represent and warrant that:

(i) you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize Nash to use all copyright, trademark, trade name, service mark, logos and intellectual property and other proprietary rights in and to any and all User Submissions to enable inclusion and use of the User Submissions in the manner contemplated by the website and these Terms of Use; and

(ii) you have the written consent, release or permission of each and every identifiable individual person in the User Submission to use their name or likeness to enable inclusion and use of the User Submissions in the manner contemplated by the website and these Terms of Use. You retain all of your ownership rights in your User Submissions. However, by submitting the User Submissions to Nash for public use, you hereby grant Nash a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in connection with the Nash website and Nash's business, including without limitation for promotion and redistribution of part or all of the Nash website (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. You also hereby grant each user of the Nash website a non-exclusive license to access your User Submissions, if submitted for public use, through the website, and to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and perform such User Submissions as permitted through the functionality of the website and under these Terms of Use.

For User Submissions you submit, you further agree that you will not:

(i) submit material that is copyrighted, protected by trade mark or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant Nash all of the license rights granted herein;

(ii) publish falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage Nash or any third party;

(iii) submit material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libellous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or is otherwise inappropriate;

(iv) post advertisements or solicitations of business; or

(v) impersonate another person.

Nash does not endorse any User Submission or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed therein, and Nash expressly disclaims any and all liability in connection with User Submissions. Nash will remove all content and User Submissions if properly notified that such content or User Submission infringes another's intellectual property rights. Nash also has sole discretion to decide whether content or a User Submission is appropriate and complies with these Terms of Use. Nash reserves the right to remove content and User Submissions without prior notice and to terminate your access to the website, if you are in violation of these Terms of Use.

Nash reserves the right to discontinue any aspect of the Nash website at any time.

You understand that when using the Nash website, you will be exposed to User Submissions from a variety of sources, and that Nash is not responsible for and makes no warranties concerning the accuracy, usefulness, safety, or intellectual property rights of or relating to such User Submissions.
